The Fire And Forge Festival originally named Rock Diabetes has now successfully entered it’s 6th year of existence. Growing gradually each year and raising awareness of type 1 diabetes and funds for the JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation) Charity.

Also supporting the underground rock and metal scene, giving up and coming bands the chance to play on the big stage alongside household name headliners we try hard to book each year.
Over the years we have had many bands and artists who have supported the festival who suffer or have members of their families who suffer from type 1 or type 2 diabetes.

We run a tight ship and pride ourselves on a well organised and enjoyable family orientated gig. If you wish to volunteer to help at the festival please see the become a volunteer form on the contact us tab on the menu above.

With two stages running all day with a slight overlap to give each band a share of the audience and the whole of the audience at some point during their set. We also give all the bands an opportunity to sell their merchandise on our well organised and well situated merchandise stand. Participating bands will also benefit from months of extra social media, radio and press coverage during the lead up to the festival. We also try and give back some kudos to the line up bands that give their time to our cause.

Keep an eye on our news pages or sign up to the mailing list as during the year leading up to the festival we do put on warm up gigs, this is usually held at a local music venue and will feature some bands on the festival bill and bands that are looking to play the main festival in the future. So if you have applied to play and haven’t managed to be selected for the main festival we may offer you a warm up gig slot, bear in mind if our team aren’t aware of your band or you wish to be seriously considered as a stand in or for future years this is an opportunity to impress. If you wish to apply please see the band application form on the contact us tab on the menu bar above.

Our participating bands will also get the use of a professional venue, the Civic centre offers a wealth of back stage benefits including a chill out green room, where we also provide a continuous buffet during the day for band members who might get hungry, Bands also get the use of a fully kitted out changing room, complete with toilets, showers and seating as well as mirrors and dressing table. Both stages are operated with full light and sound engineers and we supply pa and full back line.

For further details on the facilities available at the venue see the venue tab on the menu bar above.

This year we are running a Friday night showcase show too, please see our ticket page on the menu bar above.
